A story unfolds as the lamp is lit! The triangular Sanjhi lamp contains a hand-cut paper stencil of the sacred symbol of Tree-of-life divided across three panels. This symbol depicts interconnection of life forms and is considered sacred across sciences from biology to philosophy. Each side of this triangular lamp contains hand-cut Sanjhi of tree, animals, and birds respectively. When lit the Tree of Life scenery comes to life creating a bright yet serene atmosphere. The lamp uses handmade paper sandwiched between two glasses and framed using teakwood.

About the Art-form:
Sanjhi, the art of paper stencilling using special scissors, was initially used to create stencils. These stencils were then used to make floor decorations (Rangolis) in Lord Krishna temple. With time, the art-form has been reduced to wall hangings in white paper and is being practiced by a few individuals only.

About the Artisans:
Gifted artisans, Vijay and Mohan Verma have carefully created the intricate Sanjhi artwork (Mathura, India)
